The State Department (DOS) will release the winners of the FY 2025 Diversity Visa Lottery tomorrow, May 4, 2024, starting at noon ET. Foreign nationals who entered the lottery must check the DOS’s official website to learn whether they were selected to apply for a diversity visa—the DOS will not send direct notifications to lottery winners. On the DOS site, lottery entrants will be prompted to enter the confirmation number of their entry, their last name or date of birth, and a randomly generated authentication code. Note that there may be delays accessing the website due to heavy user traffic.
If your lottery entry was selected, you can submit an application for permanent residence once your DV regional lottery rank number is listed as current on the Department of State monthly Visa Bulletin. Note that at FY 2025 DV applications must be submitted and issued during the 2025 fiscal year, which starts on October 1, 2024, and ends on September 30, 2025.
